Enterprise Architecture and Model Driven Architecture (MDA)

Enterprise architecture separates concerns in complex computing systems so as to make systems more flexible and maintainable over time.  

Model Driven Architecture^TM (MDA^TM) is an approach to enterprise architecture that uses formal models to achieve these ends.  MDA also promotes the use of formal models as development artifacts that drive code generators and virtual machines.  MDA is the strategic architecture for the Object Management Group.
