MDAŽ and the Semantic Web

A Synergistic Relationship

Audience: IT managers, architects, and senior developers

Duration: 60 minutes

Prerequisites: A basic knowledge of UML and XML is helpful but not required.

Abstract: Although metadata is a vital aspect of both MDA and the Semantic Web, these two sets of specifications are actually complementary.   This session provides a high level overview of the metadata architecture that lies at the heart of MDA, and that is embodied in the MOFTM , XMIŽ, JMI, and CMI standards.  It also provides a high-level overview of the key Semantic Web specifications, including RDF, OWL, and the new SCL (Simplified Common Logic).  It then explains the potential for synergy in using MDA and the Semantic Web together.
